About the Team

This role will be part of the Nutanix Prism team, based in San Jose. The team is geographically distributed across San Jose and India and is focused on building an enterprise grade platform and delivering exceptional multi cloud solutions to Nutanix’s customers. The team's culture emphasizes collaboration, technical innovation, and a commitment to excellence, fostering an environment where team members can grow and influence the technical direction of products.

You will report to an Engineering Manager, who is known for fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages open communication, where team members feel empowered to influence decisions and contribute to the project’s success. This role will operate in a hybrid work setup, requiring team members to be in the office for three days a week, while allowing flexibility for the remaining days to be worked remotely.

This position does not require any travel, as the role is primarily focused on hybrid work.

 

Your Role

  • Design and develop cutting-edge hybrid/multi-cloud products that are resilient and perform optimally at scale.
  • Create high-quality, reusable software by writing clean code and comprehensive unit tests, following an API-driven approach.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, product managers, and support to fulfill customer requirements and innovate engineering solutions.
  • Conduct design and code reviews, ensuring adherence to performance and scalability standards.
  • Own product features by operating independently and delivering impactful module-level functionalities with minimal supervision.
  • Engage in continuous learning and adaptation, enhancing technical skills in networking, cloud technologies, and relevant programming languages.
  • Facilitate a supportive team environment that promotes open communication and encourages sharing of ideas and approaches.
  • Set measurable goals for productivity and quality, aiming to contribute significantly to the team and company objectives within the first year.

 

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of software development experience with proficiency in Java, Golang, or Python.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, multi-threaded applications, and inter-process communication.
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks and a commitment to high-quality code.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTTP/HTTPS, RESTful APIs, JSON, Protobuf).
  • Knowledge of virtualization concepts and networking protocols (TCP/IP Suite, Linux networking stack).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) is a plus.

 

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 146,000 and USD $ 218,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
